Soul Inspiration – One month down 11 more to go!
What have you achieved in the last 30 days??
Maybe you were busy just surviving the holiday period, maybe you set your goals but never took action or maybe you’re kicking arse.
Don’t be so hard on yourself if you are not where you wanted to be. Where you are right now is perfectly right for you!
Let go of what hasn’t served you in the last 30 days and set new intentions for what you would like to achieve in the next 30 days.
Learn from what you did or didn’t do and take inspired action to consciously create it this month.
I remember when I first started teaching Yoga I learned one of the Yoga Fit principles of ‘Let go of expectations’ I followed this principle for years, in yoga and in life.
Every time I step on to the mat I let go of how the poses should look and go with more of how the feel for my body. Every practice is different.
I have a lot of people reach out to me and ask “Are my classes suitable for beginners” and I say YES because an important part of my practice and what I teach to my students is, Listen to your body and honour your body.
So whether you’re a beginner or have been practicing for years when you step on to the mat, you let go of the expectations, to be like other students in the class, you let go of the expectations to be flexible to do yoga, you let go of the belief you can’t do yoga and you honour yourself and do the best you can with the body the universe gave you.
You let go of self-judgments and honour and love yourself with each and every practice.
What you learn on the yoga mat you can use these lessons in life.
I remember the first time I went to Bali, I heard so many horror stories about Bali and on then so many other stories about how beautiful and amazing it was.
So using my yoga-fit principle… Let go of Expectations, I decided that I wanted to come to my own conclusions about Bali and see it for what it really was for my self. I let go of the all the stories I heard and of all the stories I was making up in my head.
Whenever a thought popped into my head about what Bali would be like I simply let it go and said to myself…I’ll be there soon to see it for myself, no expectations.
And it worked. The moment I stepped off the plane I got to experience Bali for what it was in my own way without being influenced by other peoples stories or beliefs.
I came to my own conclusion about Bali and I was able to see the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. Being able to see it through my own eyes allowed me to have the best experience.
So ask yourself now What expectations do you have in your life that you need to let go of?
In the next 30 days what if you were to set your intentions to let go of expectations and experience things for yourself, through your own eyes, on your own terms. What an amazing gift you would be giving yourself.
What if you did a Yoga class for the first time without worrying about what other people were thinking of you or scared you couldn’t do a pose. What if you rested in a pose that was difficult. What if you did the pose and felt great.
Isn’t it could to wonder!
What if you experience so much more than you ever thought possible. How amazing would your life be?
I would love for you to share with me what expectations you have and how things change when you let them go.
Even when it came to writing this blog. I decided at the end of last year I wanted to write a blog sharing lessons and wisdom from my experiences in life so that you feel inspired to take action and start consciously creating a life you absolutely love.
I call this blog Soul Inspiration. I said to myself I was going to write when I feel inspired and creative, to publish minimum once a month, if I was inspired to write more I would but I committed to monthly.
So here I am, honouring my commitment.
