Soul Inspiration – Your Heart knows

Have you ever had that feeling in your heart or gut where you knew something was wrong but you went ahead and did it any way?

Today I wanted to share with you how listening to your heart, your gut or your intuition can help you live your best life.

My intention for my blogs is to write from my heart, to write what inspires me and to inspire and motivate you.

Recently I have learnt more and more to trust myself, to listen to my heart and get out of my head. There have been many moments in my life where I have not listened to my heart or trusted my intuition. I would get a feeling but ignored it. My mind would reason with the feeling, push it down and make up another story, one that I wanted to here and not believe the other. My head always won.

But when I got out of my head and into my heart my life changed.

I asked myself some serious questions.

What kind of Coach would I be supporting women to listen to their own hearts when I was stomping on my own.

What kind of mother would i be If I denied myself of my own happiness and ignored my heart, what kind of example does that set for my children.

What kind of woman would I be if i made decisions purely in my head and listened to those limiting beliefs and stories that I had created in my head .

What kind of life would I be living if I was worried about what others thought of me?

It was with these questions and more that I made a decision to do what’s right for me, to listen to my heart, to let go of the beliefs and stories In had made up because the truth is our beliefs are not facts or real they are just something we believe to be true.

How many times have you been told to listen to you heart but don’t?

How many times have you denied yourself from your own happiness?

How many times have you lied to yourself and listened to the B.S stories your mind has created?

How many times? What will it take for you to listen now?

“What you resist…persists!”

Trust me when I say this. When you don’t listen to your heart you rob yourself of your own happiness, it creates this inner conflict, this back an fourth between thinking and feeling and sometimes the thinking is what gets you trapped. You get lost in your head.

“When you get in your head you’re dead”

The mind is a belief-making machine. We tend to see experiences as a reflection of who we are, and then both positive and negative beliefs form without any conscious effort or awareness.

When you’re too much in your head these beliefs create stories that holds us back from living our best life.

The beliefs “I’m not good enough” “ I’m not worthy enough” prevent us from trying, from taking a risk, from happiness, From love and ultimately living our BEST life.

There are many modalities that help create powerful transformations off those limiting beliefs. And the more work we do on re-writing our story the closer we get to creating our own happiness.

I truely believe that we don’t ever get rid of the belief that we are not enough or worthy but it’s about creating a more powerful narrative and having the courage to consciously choose the new narrative rather than believe in the disempowering story, if or when it arises.

As you reach a new level or new chapter of your life the belief appears again I like to say a new level a different devil. The belief will pop up but again, having courage to move past it.

A couple of weekends ago I attended a speakers boot camp and this belief of I’m not good enough showed it’s ugly head. I’ve had a fear of public speaking ever since high school, worried about what others thought of me, worried about not being perfect and forgetting my words, worried about not being smart enough. But what I’ve learnt about fear is in order to remove the fear you have to do the very thing that scares you and for me, that was public speaking.

Public speaking is a learnt skill. Some people are naturally talented and confident about speaking in public but for those like myself that are not, it is a skill that can be learnt, with the right framework, with practice, with mentoring and coaching and with creating a new narrative.

As I’ve mentioned when you reach a new level or phase in your life, the old belief will come back. Our brains are hardwired for negative, to always look for danger so it’s up to you to re-train it.

What I like to do when that old belief comes up is to interrupt the pattern. Before my mind can go off into a story of I’m not good enough, I pause, I take a breath and immediately say to myself…I am MORE than good enough and then I continue on a little rant in my mind, repeating powerful and positive affirmations to re-inforce the new belief and interrupts the pattern of the old belief.

“The two most powerful words in the English language are I AM, for what you put after them is who you become”

I say:

I AM Worthy

I AM Smart Enough

I AM more than Good Enough

I AM Amazing

I AM Confident

I Am Strong

And the list goes on.

I repeat it over and over until the old belief can no longer be heard. It’s like scratching an old record a million times until you can no longer play it.

I may have gotten a little side tracked here in this blog about limiting beliefs but I feel its important to speak about it because we all have at some point in our lives have had limiting beliefs.

If you want to change anything in your life, you must first become aware of it consciously.

“Awareness is key to change”

So my final message here is, you already have everything you need inside of you to start living your best life so start listening to your heart, listen to your gut, listen to your intuition and trust yourself that you are doing what is right for you. Say YES to you. Let go of the limiting beliefs and re-write a new story.
