Soul Inspiration – Reprogramming Your Subconscious Mind

Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you keep falling back into old patterns? Maybe you’ve committed to a fitness routine only to find yourself skipping workouts after a few weeks. Perhaps you’ve tried to change your diet but somehow keep reaching for the foods that sabotage your progress. Or maybe, deep down, you don’t t really believe you can change.

For many women over 40, the struggle to regain control of their bodies, confidence, and well-being isn’t t just about diet and exercise it’s about rewiring the mind.

Your subconscious mind is running the show, shaping your habits, beliefs, and identity. If you don’t change the script playing in your subconscious, you will continue living out the same patterns over and over again.

But guess what…. You have the power to rewrite your story.

The subconscious mind is like the operating system running in the background of your life. Unlike your conscious mind the part of you that makes deliberate decisions the subconscious works automatically, shaping your daily actions based on deeply ingrained patterns and beliefs.

Think of it as the autopilot mode of your brain.

When you learned to drive, you had to consciously focus on every detail checking mirrors, pressing the gas, watching for other cars. Now, you can drive while thinking about your grocery list, listening to music, or having a conversation. That’s because your subconscious has stored the process, allowing you to function on autopilot.

Your subconscious also stores limiting beliefs deep-seated thoughts you may not even be aware of but that shape your actions. If you’ve ever thought:

“I’m too old to get in shape”

“I’ve never been good at fitness, so I won’t be now”

“Healthy eating is too hard for me”

“I just don’t have the motivation”

“I don’t deserve to feel good in my body”

Then guess what? Your subconscious is ensuring that these beliefs become your reality. Your mind wants to be right. If you believe something at a deep level, your subconscious will look for ways to prove it true, whether that belief serves you or sabotages you.

Your beliefs shape your actions, and your actions shape your reality. But here’s the thing: Most of the beliefs running your life aren’t even yours.

Many of them were inherited from childhood experiences, societal conditioning, or past failures. Maybe you were told as a child that you weren’t athletic, and you carried that belief into adulthood. Maybe you grew up seeing your mother struggle with her weight, and now you assume that’s your fate too.

Beliefs are not truths they are simply thoughts you’ve accepted as true.

And here’s the good news: You can change them.

When you shift your beliefs, you shift your reality. If you start believing that you are capable, strong, and worthy of a vibrant, healthy life, your actions will begin aligning with that belief.

Your Internal Language: The Stories You Tell Yourself

Words are powerful not just the ones you say out loud, but the ones you repeat in your head every single day. Every thought is like a command to your subconscious mind. If you constantly tell yourself:

“Im so tired”

“I never stick with anything”

“I always fail at this”

“This is just the way I am”

Then your subconscious takes these statements as instructions and works to make them true.

Now, imagine flipping the script.

What if, instead of reinforcing negative beliefs, you started using empowering language?

“I am learning to prioritise my health”

“I am becoming stronger every day”

“I deserve to feel good in my body”

“I am capable of transformation”

This isn’t  just positive thinking its reprogramming your subconscious mind to align with your goals. True transformation isn’t just about what you do, it’s about who you believe you are. If you’ve ever tried to change your habits but failed, it’s likely because you were trying to force new actions without shifting your identity.

For example:

A woman who sees herself as not a gym person will struggle to stick with a workout routine, no matter how hard she tries.

A woman who believes she lacks discipline will continue making choices that reflect that belief.

A woman who identifies as always struggling with weight will find ways to sabotage her progress.

So how do you change? You shift your identity.

Instead of trying to get fit, start seeing yourself as a fit person. Instead of trying to eat healthy, become someone who values nourishing her body.

Ask yourself: Who is the version of me that already has what I want? What does she think? How does she act? What choices does she make?

Then start embodying her now. Transformation starts in the mind. Here are some ways to begin rewiring your subconscious:

1. Rewrite Your Internal Story: Identify the beliefs that have been holding you back. Challenge them: Are they really true, or just familiar? Replace them with new, empowering beliefs.

2. Watch Your Words: Be mindful of the language you use about yourself. Stop reinforcing negative narratives, speak to yourself with kindness and power. Use affirmations that reinforce your new identity.

3. Visualise Your Future Self: Spend a few minutes each day imagining yourself as the strong, confident, and vibrant woman you want to be. Feel what it’s like to already be her.

4. Take Small, Aligned Actions: Start acting like the person you want to become. Make decisions as if you already are her.

5. Surround Yourself with the Right Influences: Follow people who inspire you. Limit exposure to negative or limiting environments. Connect with a community that supports your growth.

6. Practice Consistency Over Perfection: Change isn’t about flipping a switch overnight it’s about rewiring your mind, one choice at a time.

When you fall off track, don’t reinforce the old story (See, I always fail). Instead, remind yourself: I’m becoming the person who follows through.

Your Mind is Your Most Powerful Tool. If you’ve been struggling to change, it’s not because you’re not disciplined enough or motivated enough. It’s because your subconscious mind is still running an old program.

But you can change that. By shifting your beliefs, upgrading your internal language, and stepping into your new identity, you will begin to see the change not just in your habits but in how you feel about yourself. And when that happens? Your confidence soars. Your energy rises. Your body transforms. Your life expands.

The power to create the life, body, and confidence you want is already within you. It’s just waiting for you to wake up to it.

Are you ready to reprogram your mind and step into the next level of your life?
